Our Sustainable Commitment
“As global travelers and manufacturers, social responsibility and sustainability are the bedrock of our existence.”
At our core, we believe that travel should be more than just an escape from our everyday lives. We see it as an opportunity to engage with the world around us and leave a positive impact on the places we visit. We understand the importance of minimizing our carbon footprint, preserving local cultures and ecosystems, and supporting local communities to ensure the future generations can continue the search for adventure.
Eco-Conscious Adventure-Ready Goods
By using materials that are responsibly sourced and produced, we can help reduce our negative impact on the planet for future generations. Sustainable materials also means a fair and safe working environment for producers and their communities, supporting their livelihoods and promoting social responsibility. The commitment to sustainable materials provides our customers with high-quality products that they can feel good about purchasing and using.
100% Certified Organic Cotton
We take pride in utilizing sustainable alternatives to our materials because of the benefits they have on the environment, the producers and our customers. Unlike conventional cotton, which is heavily treated with pesticides and other chemicals, organic cotton is grown using natural methods that do not harm the soil, water, or air. This makes it a more eco-friendly choice that helps to promote biodiversity and protect the health of farmers and local communities.
Something you may not know about organic cotton is that it's also hypoallergenic, which makes it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin. It's also softer and more breathable than conventional cotton, which makes it more comfortable to wear in a variety of climates making it the ideal travel fabric.
Recycled Polyester
The use of recycled polyester reduces the amount of plastic waste in landfills and oceans. By utilizing used plastic bottles and other post-consumer materials, recycled polyester gives a second life to these resources, averting them from contributing to pollution and the negative impact on the environment. In addition to preventing unnecessary waste, production of recycled polyester uses up to 59% less energy and emits 32% less carbon dioxide compared to making virgin polyester, making it a more sustainable option.

Social Responsibility
Safecamp Foundation
The Safecamp Foundation is a non-profit organization born from Roark’s goal to leave the communities we visit better than when we found them. Our Mission is to facilitate programs that empower travelers to give back to the people they meet by improving life opportunities through health, educational enrichment and community building initiatives.
In the past, the SafeCamp Foundation has engaged in various initiatives to provide clean drinking water to communities in need. One such initiative was the deployment of water filtration systems in rural areas. Some examples include our efforts in Java and Oaxaca. SafeCamp worked with local partners to provide clean drinking water to countless villagers by utilizing portable filtration systems that removed harmful bacteria and other contaminants from the water source.
Artist in Residence
The Artist in Residence program features collaborations with various local artists who help design limited edition collections, and a portion of the proceeds from the sales are donated to their foundation of choice.
Working along side local New Zealand Artist during our Awol in Aotearoa collection, we raised total of $10,000 for KidsCan NZ, which provides food, clothing, and basic healthcare to children in need across New Zealand.
The latest Artist in Residence collection is in collaboration with local Tahitian artist Yiling Changues, in support of the non-profit organization Tamarii no te Moana. Yiling's artwork is inspired by the natural beauty of the Tahitian islands and the ocean that surrounds them.
Tamarii no te Moana, the organization that Yiling is working with, focuses on coral restoration throughout the islands, a critical initiative to preserve the local ecosystem and protect the surrounding marine life.
Part of the proceeds from her collection will go directly to the foundation.
