Layover Utility Shorts - Military
These are my hands down, my favorite shorts that I’ve purchased in the last several years. Stylish, durable fabric and construction, pockets and zippers that I’m still finding out about…. The secret cell phone pocket above the right rear pocket is the best thing ever. Belt loops AND draw strings? Come on! Simply amazing with the design and execution on these my friends. But Roark, my only complaint is the limited number of colors offered. I hope this is just an issue maintaining your current stock as I’ve been checking your site fairly regularly in hopes that I can pick up my next pair in say…. a Navy, Gray and/or possibly a Sand color. Please make it happen!

Awesome shorts. Phone pocket is great. Zips are a great idea too but the zip is a bit small and gets hard to find. An in between size like a 31 would be a bonus too. So impressed I’ve just ordered a second pair along with the pants.

I'm a longtime Roark supporter and longtime Layover series advocate, but I hate to say that these shorts missed the mark. The material is very heavy; far too hot for most shorts weather days. They're also a touch too short for the type of material they are and the way they drape (or lack thereof). The zippers for the pockets get trapped to where your fingers can't reach them to pull them out, which makes them really ineffective. Additionally, the "carbon black" colorway is definitely not black -- more of a charcoal grey; even the stitching is grey.

These were delivered, I tried them on and instantly bought another. The wife was impressed with the fit. I loved that they have zippers on the pockets so your stuff can be zipped up safe and won't fall out of your pocket. Durability is still up in the air but they seem well made and sturdy. Get some!
