Best running shorts on the market

Not as comfortable as Lululemon

Favourite running shorts and well worth the price. Little bit of chaffing with the tackle hitting the centre stitching for the first few runs but otherwise perfect. Magnetic pocket idea is top notch and the phone holder is firm with my iphone pro max with case. 1st pair going strong after around 700kms running and just purchased a 2nd pair because they are awesome. I'm 5"10 and 160 pounds and wear size M which fits perfectly.

Was hesitant to buy at first because of the price point, but so glad I pulled the trigger on these. Most comfortable pair of running shorts that I own, and they look great. I love the magnetic pockets and liner pocket. Worth every penny and looking to get a second pair.

One key feature makes these shorts a no-go: The horribly designed pocket in the compression layer. The pocket sits WAY too low on the left leg (it’s almost to the knee). It is way too roomy for a phone. When you do put a phone in there (I have an iPhone 12) it sways like a pendulum. This adds a ton of weight to your leg. The pocket should be way tighter and sit closer to the hip. The pocket is also not sweat-proof. The entire compression layer actually leaves a lot to be desired — it really doesn’t compress anything. I wonder if they researched these shorts with any actual runners before releasing them bc I could tell in about 5 strides that these shorts were poorly designed. I’m super bummed because I love the look, but the function just is not there. For $90 I expect a lot more.

Recently ordered a pair of the Alta 5” shorts (Hillside) by far the best pair of shorts I ran in! Comfortable and lightweight is what I’ve been searching for in a pair of running shorts. Now I own 3 pairs and looking online as you’re reading this review to order more!!

Bought these for our son. He is an avid runner and basketball player. He loves them. Super comfortable.

If you say these shorts are going to be xl, make them that way. I'm tired of running/sports clothes companies running way too small by virtue of making their clothes "skin-tight" when in reality they are just not conforming to regular sizing. I should not require an xxxl in running shorts when I wear an xl in regular shorts.

Supper durable and comfy worth every penny

I put off buying these because I thought I'd never spend $90 on a pair of running shorts. That was a major regret...these are the best running shorts I've ever had, period. They're comfortable, not too tight, not too loose on the liner and I can do extended runs with no issues whatsoever. I've maxed out at 10 miles so far and plan to use these on my first marathon in a couple of months. I'll definitely be buying more of these. As it stands I just have 1 pair, but I'm always eager to wash them quickly after a run so I can use them instead of any other running shorts I have. Bottom line, these shorts have for sure won me over.

I love these shorts (have 3 pairs) - fit, style, function etc is top notch. For the price point I expected a bit more durability. These are still a go to for me, but I have had two pairs blow up on the same spot at the stitch on the inside of the thigh with less than 200km on them. I made a warranty claim on the first one (Roark was amazing to deal with on that) but I haven't on the second pair as I think it may just be a design flaw. It also just may be the camo style specifically as I also have the Orion style which seems to be a softer liner and has held up thus far.

I used the Bommer for the Camino de Santiago and alternated between hiking with a backpack and trail running with a hydration pack, a daily segment of 20-45km over two weeks. It has a good fit and quality material. The guy who thought about using magnets to close the pocket should get a bonus. Another bonus point was that the friction from the backpack didn't damage the Bommer, unlike the other shorts that I had with me.

I have 2 issues with these shorts: 1 - The liner has a stitch seam down the center. Fine for short and middle distances, but at longer distances it is a friction point where you don’t want one. 2 - The waist tie is on the inside. As the miles add up, that is another discomfort that isn’t necessary. On the whole, I like the fit and the functionality of the pockets. The liner makes these better for cool days. Nice shorts but not perfect.

I don’t typically wear shorts with compression liners. Both these on sale to try out and tested them on an 8 mile run from East LA to Montebello and back. The fit was perfect; snug, supportive and graceful. Not a fan of camp but love the leg message/print.
